Inflation slows to 4.56% annually in the first half of November

Mexico's inflation slowed in the first half of November, standing at4.56% annually, after its rebound to 4.76% in October, reported theNational Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).
In the first half of the month, the National Consumer Price Index (INPC)reported a variation of 0.37% compared to the previous fortnight, unlikethe same period of the previous year when it was 0.63%
According to data presented by INEGI, the core price index, represented bythe prices of goods and services, increased 0.04% at a fortnight rate and3.58% at an annual rate.
Inside the price of goods had a biweekly variation of -0.14% and 2.46% atan annual rate, the prices of food, beverages and tobacco reported abiweekly variation of 0.14% and 3.65% annually.
Regarding non-food goods, INEGI reported a biweekly variation of -0.37%and 1.17% annually, while services marked a biweekly variation of 0.22%and annual variation of 4.85%.
Meanwhile, the non-core price index, manifested by the prices ofagricultural products, energy and tariffs authorized by the government,registered a rise of 1.44% biweekly and 7.64% annually.
Within the non-core index, the prices of agricultural products reported abiweekly variation of 0.25% and 11.33% annually, fruits and vegetablesregistered a variation of -0.02% biweekly and 18.17% annually.
The fruits and vegetables that marked a more marked variation at thebiweekly rate were: papaya and onion, with increases of 15.83 and 14.88%,respectively.
While the prices of energy and tariffs authorized by the governmentmarked a biweekly variation of 2.41% and 4.18% annually.
